Job Summary 

At Polaroid, we're dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation, and we're seeking a talented ID CMF & Packaging specialist to join our team. You will contribute to the development of ID/CMF and packaging across our product lines. You'll work closely with your cross-functional counterparts to design, develop, verify, and validate industrial design and packaging solutions, playing a crucial role in driving our products forward. This role involves collaboration with sourcing, mechanical engineer, manufacturing, to bring products from design to mass production via our product lifecycle framework. Key Responsibilities:  

  • ID development of Polaroid hardware: according to the product industrial design to re-build 3D model in Creo for subsequent mechanical design, participate in tooling review and modification. 

  • CMF development: Coordination of product CMF appearance-related engineering control process from product development stage till mass production: responsible for the validation process of prototype, sample builds and yield optimization.

  • Design & development of packaging and in-box accessories: owner of  the packaging material development, design quality assurance test, verification and production.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sourcing, manufacturing, and other operations teams in later development stages to bring products to mass production.  

  • Collaboration with External Partners: Supplier management to ensure specification, quality(validation/inspection) and schedule meet our expectation. 

  • Documentation storage and issue.

  • Continuous Learning: Actively participate in learning opportunities and apply new knowledge to improve our products and processes.  

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, graphic or visual design and/or design related fields master’s degree an advantage.

  • Minimum of 3-5+ years experience as an industrial designer or similar design role in consumer Electronics, camera imaging product, accessories, consumer research and/or another related field. 

  • Proficient in 3D Creo and advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals. 

  • Team work and project delivery, collaborateing in a cross-functional, multi-geographic team.

  • Paying excellent attention to detail in terms of color, texture and cosmetic quality. 

  • Patience to the project/process development routines.

  • Logical thinking / Proactive personality. 

  • Effective communication and time management skills.

  • Able to communicate in English regards presenting your ideas or just casual chat.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 2-3+ Years experience in packaging of consumer electronics product and/or accessories is a plus. 

  • Experienced in graphic design, packaging design and sensitivity to layout, logo, typography, and color is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of printing processes, packaging styles, types, and materials. 

  • Being able to explore creativity and visually interpret and simplify concepts.
